Catherine's Wedding Dress!

Oh what an amazing day yesterday. I was blown away by the stunning spectacle of The Royal Wedding.

For me, Catherine's Wedding gown was just incredible, it was everything I had expected and more.

The cut and design was exquisite, along with the choice of Silk and Lace.I do hope it will make potential brides look again at what they are buying and how gowns are made. So much is mass produced today, and still they come with a hefty price tag.

Couture garments  ooze style and finish, they are how I make my gowns, and I do hope there will be a revival of handmade Bridal Gowns, they do not have to be pricey, they are just made with love and incredible attention to detail, and certainly do not belong to the throw away fashion of today.

Long live Couture and the Happy marriage of William and Catherine.
Thank you for a perfect day!

Designing!

I was far too busy to blog last week. It was half term, so that didn't help matters. Although Alice was amazing and drew with me all week, in between making cupcakes, biscuits and seeing my wonderful friends, Marie and her family from Canada.

Here are a few of my sketches that I have been designing this week.I have been asked by South West Brides magazine for my take on the Royal Wedding. No pressure, but I do feel, I have been, in my mind, in Westminster Abbey all week! It will be fantastic advertising for me when it comes out in April.

I have just been to Northcote Manor, where I am showing at their Wedding Fair on Sunday the 6th of March 1pm until 5pm. What a beautiful place set in the rolling hills and over looking the Taw Valley near Burrington. It is so warm and welcoming, with delightful interiors and roaring log fires. Its just the perfect place to get married. Do come along and check it out. http://www.northcotemanor.co.uk/

Royal Wedding!

Congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton! I love a good wedding especially a Royal one, we so know how to do things properly in this country!
Yes of course I would love to design and make her gown... I am waiting for the phone to ring!
Choosing the gown is the hardest part of planning for the great day. Every girl regards her gown as the dress of her dreams. But this is not just any girl, nor is it just any wedding gown. A future Queen of England needs to think long and hard, so much to take into consideration. My bet for the Royal designer will be Stuart Parvin..... classic and timeless or maybe Phillipa Lepley. Another designer that Kate uses is an Brizilian designer Daneiella ''Issa'' Helayel.I only wish it was me, maybe if I had started out when I did and not stopped, I would be up there now, and a real consideration!
