Time Out

Today is rather special as my son Harry is returning from university, it has seemed like a short year, but we are all delighted to have him home... and I can listen to his singing once again! I have not been able to sew much as Alice [6yrs] has wanted to make net flowers adorned with sparkles, we had put them on Alice bands and she has worn them at different angles throughout the day........is she taking after me?

This is Alice's favorite dress so far, what do you think?

It is made from a Dark Ivory silk Taffeta . It has two skirts ,the top one is detachable, it has a rather attractive waterfall effect which sits off centre and compliments the crossover bodice. I have completed the look with some amazing vintage silk Camellia's . The back is cut rather low, with little covered buttons and rouleau loops and finished with a beautiful and hand tied bow, I must find another photo!

Friends!

Well what a day! Sports Day for Alice, followed by Picnic lunch. Then back to my workroom to cut out my next creation!! My very special friend Sarah Lambert came after school and Flora helped her do her first blog, so at least now we can follow each other if nothing else!! I love it when Sarah comes because she is always interested in what I'm doing in my workroom and we have great chats, she has a very eager eye for detail and doesn't miss a trick!

A quiet day!

Well , I have had a busy day reorganising my work room. I needed a day off from making and time to think! I have had a few positive thoughts about my web-site too. What do you think to this dress? I havemade it in a power woven Dupion. The bodice is cut on the cross so it is very shapely when worn, its hugs the body and makes you look tiny! It could be in any colour or print. It is also lined in the silk its made in so it feels fab!! it has a wrap around skirt that is split at the front, let me find another photo! Izy's handpainted butterflies on silk is the background, this looks good as a back drop.
